They defeat many Jedi, but their final confrontation with the Jedi Master, Malak, is particularly difficult. His battle is dark and brutal, his skills are significantly superior to theirs, and he is able to defeat them without killing them. Instead, he forces them to serve him by giving them back their lives after he has robbed them of their souls.
