Being a type, I earn my living through my type, but I also earn my living from being a writer who is also a type, and without my type I don’t earn my living from writing.
If you’re not a type, it can be very difficult to grasp this idea. It’s difficult to grasp it because the concept of type is counterintuitive. It’s counterintuitive because most people want to think of themselves as rational, thinking people, and yet the most rational, thinking people in the world are type Bs, and they’re not really all that rational.
In fact, if you think about it, most types are not very rational at all. In fact, I’ve noticed that for every type that appears to be rational, there’s an opposite type that is quite irrational. In fact, the opposite types are often more rational than the opposite type is.
To understand this, let’s revisit a famous example from Carl Jung’s book Psychological Types.
