Bobble personality type is INTP, but he is more introverted than I am, which makes him a little bit more likely to be a “stickler” about things. He also has a tendency to be a little bit more perfectionistic about things. He seems to be more rigid about how things are done, but he does have some of the same characteristics as I do.
We had an interesting conversation today about the differences between the ways that the Myers-Briggs personality types see themselves. I had assumed that there would be no difference, since everyone who has an MBTI has the same type, but I was surprised to find that we have very different interpretations of ourselves. For example, I don’t think that I’m as stubborn as he thinks I am, but I do think that I can be too stubborn at times. I don’t think that he is as perfectionistic as I think he is, but he can be perfectionistic at times. We were discussing how we each see ourselves and it reminded me of the differences between the Jungian and Enneagram models of personality.
The Enneagram model of personality is about the differences between types. It is not about the similarities between types.
