Background
Yuta was born in Japan and grew up in a mostly non-religious household. His mother, Orie, is a nurse and his father, Taro, is a police officer in their hometown of Osaka. Yuta was trained in the arts of kendo and naginata at a young age and was expected to follow in his father's footsteps in becoming a police officer. However, in his senior year in high school, he had a near death experience where he witnessed his own death for about an hour. This made him realize that he was not truly alive and this experience turned him into a Buddhist. He finally decided to leave his family and join the police force after this incident.
Yuta had initially planned on becoming a police detective but after seeing how corrupt the police force was, he decided against it. He decided to take up the position of a detective instead. However, he was turned down by the police department due to lack of experience. He then decided to become an inspector.
