In the context of the current study, the researchers say:
“In general, it is clear from the findings that general cognitive ability, conscientiousness, and social desirability are not only predictive of job performance, but also potentially associated with subsequent negative performance or even adverse outcomes.”
They also say that there is a risk that “personal characteristics may not be a valid predictor of specific work outcomes”.
