Bret McKenzie personality type is INFP, so I totally relate to the artistic and intuitive aspects of this song. The way it grows and develops from a simple acoustic guitar and vocals into a full-blown punk song with a blistering guitar solo is quite remarkable. It’s a true testiment to the strength of the songwriting here. This is a wonderful song. 9.5/10
9. Monkeys for Breakfast – “The greatest gift I ever gave you was a monkey”. This song is about a close friend, Bret himself, who passed away from cancer in 2010. In the song, Bret sings “You were my best friend, you were my greatest gift”, and it’s a wonderful, emotional song that any INFP would relate to. It’s hilarious and touching all at once! 10/10
10. Rapunzel – This is a great comedic track that features a strange and strange vocal effect that sounds like a machine gun. It’s a very strange and strange song that you can listen to for hours on end without getting sick of it. It’s so strange and strange! 10/10
