I don't know if this is true, but I always assumed that the introverted, reserved, focused, and deliberate personality types were more common in the world of video games than the other two.
They are. The 16 personality types in the study were drawn from a survey of more than 300,000 people (I should note that the study was conducted in the U.S., which skews the results).
And 46 percent of respondents said they were introverted, compared to only about 30 percent who said they were extroverted.
I don't believe the correlation between personality types and games is 100 percent, but it's pretty close.
The conclusions drawn from this study are extremely broad, so I wondered what the researchers did to narrow down their focus. They used a bunch of different personality scales to draw their conclusions, including four different questionnaires that asked about personality type.
The four personality questionnaires were the Eysenck Personality Inventory Revised (EPI-R), the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Five Factor Model of personality, and the California Psychological Inventory.
