Gretel personality type is INTP, as is my wife.
By the time I was 12, I had learned my lesson and decided that at least for now, I was going to skip out on the popular girls and the kind of girls who liked to hang out with them.
I figured that if my personality type was so different than the popular girls, and I wanted to be more like them, then they would pick me as their friend. But I didn't want to be like them. It wasn't that I didn't like them or wasn't interested in them or anything like that, but I just didn't want to be like them. And I knew this was something that was very different from other girls.
Girls would take offense at this, but it wasn't because they didn't like me. They would say things like "I'm not trying to be friends with you. Don't take this personally." The problem was that they didn't understand me. They didn't understand that I liked being different from them, unlike them. And I knew that I was different from them, but I didn't know why.
