Sophocles (Mamane) personality type is INTP, and is not a function. I think it's pretty clear by now that this is basically a list of the "romantic partners" and "children" Nabokov and his peers used to live out their dreams. It's also clear that we're just supposed to judge the people on the list and use that as a guide to who Nabokov really was, and who he was not.
I don't think this is a good idea. I don't think the Nabokov community should be using this book as an "experiment in personality typing" or whatever. I don't think it's a good idea to forcibly categorize Nabokov's life and work. I think this is why we're having such a hard time connecting Nabokov and his work to "sociology and psychology," and why we're having such a hard time finding a psychological model that can explain what he did and how he did it.
So let's not do that.
