I’ve been a part of the ISLK community for a while now, and there was one thing that bothered me: the constant portrayal of the ISLK community as a bunch of angry, misanthropic people. It is frustrating that there are people out there who try to paint our community in this way, when in fact, we are all about positivity, caring, and kindness. We are the people who believe in “Imagine” and “Peace”, who are always open to new ideas to improve our lives. We are the people who do not judge other people, and do not have hatred toward others. We are the people who love being with our friends and family, but also love being alone for a while and enjoying our own company. At the same time, we are a very inclusive community, as evidenced by my first contribution to this blog.
The ISLK community is also filled with caring people with strong convictions, who do not just keep their beliefs to themselves, but actively take action to bring about change in the world around them.
