Kato Fransen personality type is ESTJ, which is extraverted, sensing, thinking, and judging. As a young child Fransen would read the Bible and listen to sermons and he became a pastor in his hometown of Amersfoort. In the late 1990s Fransen began to publicly discuss his views on Islam and he claimed that Muslims wanted to impose Sharia law on the Netherlands and that they were intolerant towards homosexuals, abortion, and the freedom of speech. Fransen started to appear on Dutch TV and radio in September 2006, in September 2006 Fransen was interviewed by journalist Jeroen Pauw on Dutch television. Fransen said that gay marriage should not be tolerated and that abortion should be banned in the Netherlands, as well as saying that there should be no more mosques in the Netherlands. After being interviewed by Pauw he appeared again on television shows in the Netherlands. Fransen cited passages in the Quran that he said showed that homosexuality was wrong, in his book De Slavernij van de Islam he stated that Islam was not compatible with Western values. Fransen argues that Islam does not allow freedom of speech or freedom of religion, he also argues that Islam does not have to be compatible with Western values because it has never been.
