Blue personality type is ESTP, and they’re the most common type of ESTP personality. I’ve described them above, and it’s not hard to see why they get on so well with entrepreneurial types. They’re also known for being very spontaneous and impulsive.
The downside to this personality type is that they’re not very good at thinking things through and planning ahead. I’ve seen some interesting things happen with these types in startups. They might get great ideas, get excited about them and do a lot of quick and dirty work, get a lot of traction and get a lot of press, and then some investor or financier will come along and say “You need to do this real carefully and make sure we’ve thought it through!” and the whole thing will fall apart.
These types often get bullied by more structured types like INFP, but it might be worth putting up with some bullying if you can get an outside investor on board.
Bottom line: ESFP people are really good at creating momentum early on in a startup, but if you want to make it big you need to be more structured and plan things out.
