Lear personality type is ENTJ, but because of the nature of the book, I have to assume that it's possible the character is an ENTP, which would be even more hilarious.
I was a bit surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. As a fan of the TV show, I was expecting to be bored by the prose style that drives the show, but I found it to be a fun style that didn't take away from the action. The book actually manages to be a bit more interesting because of the prose style, as it lends itself to a character-driven story that is relatively slow-paced and still manages to be engaging.
Since the book is a prequel to the TV show, it doesn't focus on any other characters from the show. It focuses on Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne as they build their relationship before the events of the show. As a character study, it's quite good, as Gordon is a very flawed character who knows that he has some serious issues that he is very aware of. He tries, in his own way, to fix his issues, but it's pretty obvious that he's only making things worse.
