Andrei had been asked by Dimitri to find Niko Bellic, and his cousin Roman Bellic. Roman was becoming paranoid after Niko murdered Vlad Glebov, an important Hove Beach gangster associated with the Faustin Family. Andrei kidnaps Niko and Roman around the corner from the Perestroika cabaret club and takes them to Mikhail Faustin's basement where Andrei's patience is wearing thin by Niko's unreliable information.
During a conversation between Niko and Mikhail, Andrei is standing close by. Mikhail, having a hot temper, turns and shoots Andrei in the head for bringing the Bellic cousins into his home, disturbing his wife and (according to Mikhail) being an asshole.
