I was reminded of this when I read an article on Forbes recently. The article was about an ENFP who had written a book, and the author described how ENFPs often go through periods of deep depression in their lives. And when they experience depression, ENFPs feel that they have been deceived. In fact, they may blame themselves for everything, which is why they may not seek treatment for depression.
In another article, I read that ENFPs can also suffer from bouts of suicidal ideation in their lives. And when this happens, the ENFP feels that he is a victim of a vast injustice in his life.
But, in fact, ENFPs are idealists, and they see the world as a place of beauty and wonder, even in the midst of suffering and hardship.
My friend John, who is an ENFP, once told me that he is not depressed. In fact, he is never depressed. When he said this to me, I was surprised because I have known him for many years and have seen him go through periods of depression in his life.
