Landon let himself out of his room, taking his backpack with him. He had a few things to do for the weekend, but he knew he'd just have to come back in later. He closed the door behind him, walked down the hall, and headed out of the building. The sun was shining. It seemed almost too warm for March, but Landon knew with certainty that this was not a normal March day.
He walked across the grass towards the parking lot and towards his car. He watched the students as they moved around on their way to the cafeteria, unaware that he was out here. He looked up into the sky, his gaze following the clouds as they moved overhead.
Something caught his attention. He looked up again and saw what looked like a helicopter flying over the school. It was moving fast, but Landon couldn't tell exactly where it was headed as it moved above him.
