The ISTJ is the most practical of the eight types, the most reliable and the least impulsive. ISTJs like things working according to a plan and will ruthlessly stick to their plans. They’re not afraid of hard work, but they don’t like to do things that don’t matter. ISTJs are the type of person you call when you need a plumber, not an artist. They like things to be orderly and organized and will be territorial of their personal space and possessions.

I’m an ISTJ, and I think there’s some truth to the stereotype. I’m very organized and I like to see my stuff in its place. If it’s not there, I get annoyed. I don’t know what that says about me, but it feels like an accurate description. I’m also very practical and down-to-earth, and I don’t see the point in making life more complicated than necessary.
