Haskell is also written in a fantastic dialect of the functional programming language, Haskell. As a Haskell programmer, you learn a fine set of programming paradigms, including closures, overloading (i.e., functions that can be called multiple times with different arguments), and lists.
But what about the syntax? Can you use Haskell to write code? The answer is yes! Haskell is very easy to pick up and use. The syntax is also very close to the syntax of other languages you already know. The Haskell community has created a ton of community libraries that make it incredibly easy to do all sorts of things. For example, there are libraries for working with dates, strings, lists, and even graphics. In fact, there is even a library for generating graphics from Haskell code!

Designed for teaching, research and industrial application, Haskell has pioneered a number of advanced programming language features such as type classes, which enable type-safe operator overloading. Haskell's main implementation is the Glasgow Haskell Compiler (GHC). It is named after logician Haskell Curry.
