Rookie Sentinel personality type is INTP, based on the old theory that there are four personality types: extrovert, intuitive, sensing, and thinking. (The theory also had four functions: feeling, thinking, judging, and perceiving.) This is no longer considered a true model of personality development because it is too simplistic. As a result, those who want to believe that the old theory was valid may still believe it. And the market for the older books is still very strong.
One of the great things about writing these articles is that I get to pick and choose which ideas I consider "true." I could write about the "big picture" of personality development and how it applies to all of us. But I prefer to focus on what makes me think of myself as an INTJ--my interests and my daily life.
I have always been interested in science fiction. I read Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke, and I'm a big science fiction fan. (I have been hooked on Star Trek since I was a kid.) When I was first writing a newsletter, I included a list of science fiction books that I thought were good, and I've continued to do that.
