Cain was born in Westmarch sometime during the year 2236, in what was then the village of Eastmarch. His mother, a mother of three, died giving birth to him. His father raised him on his own, and Cain grew up in a poor family. His father was a hunter, and was one of the best in his field during Cain's youth; Cain inherited his father's skill at hunting and tracking.
When he was young, Cain's father was killed by a pack of wild beasts, leaving him an orphan.
