Chanon personality type is INTP, and I don't think there's any doubt about that. He can be a bit hard to read, but when you get to know him, you can see he has this real gift for language and storytelling. But I also think he's a really good writer.
It's interesting that in his career he followed the path of having very successful novels in his early years, and then he kind of got away from that and didn't write them for a while. I think he got away from it because he wanted to focus on other things.
I asked him about how he came up with the voice of his main character, because I thought it was really interesting. He said he was working on a screenplay, and he couldn't figure out what to do with the main character. It was a story about a man who was responsible for the death of two people, and he couldn't figure out what made him tick. So he wrote the story from the point of view of the guy who was just this normal guy, an office worker who gets involved in this big case and has to figure out what's going on.
But then he got stuck at the end and couldn't figure out what to do with it.
