Because the INTP personality, like the ENTJ personality, is one that can be very misunderstood. The main reason that people misunderstand it (or misidentify it) is because of how often it shows up on TV, movies, and books. It's not so easy to see the INTP in real life.
I was recently talking with a couple of my friends, one of whom is an INTP, and they told me that people don't understand their personality type because they're not "introverted" enough. When I asked them what they meant by that, they said that people don't understand that INTPs are actually very introverted. You might be thinking to yourself that anyone who says that is full of it! However, I'm not saying anything else about the INTP except that they are introverted.
The way I see it is that introversion is a thing that people do.
