The following information is taken from the "Robot Personality" section of the ROBOT series manual.
The Robot Personality is a set of instructions built into the Robot's circuitry and microcircuitry. The personality is shared by all the Robotic Units in a particular Operation. With this personality installed and active, the Robot Unit and all its predecessors and successors will exhibit a given set of behaviors and skills. The personality can be changed at any time through the Unit's Status screen.
One of the most important aspects of the personality is that it defines what skills and abilities the Robot has at its disposal when it's in an Operation. If you create a Robot with a Personality that doesn't have any skills, it will have no skills at all. If you create a Robot with a Personality that has too many skills, there won't be any available for use in Operations.
