Labradoodle personality type is ENFP, or Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceptive. It is the second most common type in the United States, after the INTP.

The Labrador Retriever is a breed of gun dog that was developed from the original Newfoundland fishing dogs by the British Labrador Club as a water dog to find and retrieve fish, as well as to find and retrieve birds and other game. The Labrador Retriever is a versatile breed that will do well in any environment. They are gentle enough to live in the home with a family, but athletic enough to hunt or work in the fields.

There are two “types” of Labrador Retrievers: “Labrador Retriever type 1” and “Labrador Retriever type 2”. The first is a more active, energetic dog with a high prey drive, or desire to pursue and capture small animals or birds. They make great family companions, but they also make great pets for those who like to participate in sporting events and training activities.

The second type of Lab is less active and more laid back than type 1. They are ideal family dogs and make good companions for those who prefer a quieter life.

A Labradoodle is a crossbreed dog created by crossing the Labrador Retriever and the Standard, Miniature, or Toy poodle. The term first appeared in 1955, but was not initially popular. Labradoodles are considered a good choice for people with canine dander allergies, since some have the same hypoallergenic coat as their poodle ancestors. Wally Conron of Australia previously took credit for naming the Labradoodle in 1989. He asserts that healthy Labradoodles are "few and far between" and most are "crazy or have a hereditary problem." The Australian Labradoodle Association of America, an organization run by Labradoodle breeders, says they are "generally considered healthy dogs". However, they also state that hip and elbow dysplasia are common problems affecting Labradoodles. Other ailments include eye diseases and Addison's disease. There is some controversy over Wally Conron taking credit for the first Labradoodle.
