Indie Pop personality type is ENFP, and i’m an ENTP so I can relate to that. I like to think of them as a “needy” type, but that’s just my own interpretation and underestimation.
I find that it’s because I’m ENTP that I’m drawn to the Indie Pop genre, and it’s a genre that I can relate to due to its darkness, while still being capable of a certain sense of fun.
It’s the same reason why I love dark and gothic music in general. I’m drawn to the dark, but I’m also drawn to the fun in it. It’s like any form of art – it can be dark and scary, but you can also have happiness, fun, hope – all things that are important for us as humans.
This is what Indie Pop is. It’s not a genre that everyone can relate to, but it resonates with me. I like being able to say things like, “I know exactly what this music is about, and I feel it in my heart, soul and mind.
Indie pop is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. In later years, the definition of indie pop has bifurcated to also mean bands from unrelated DIY scenes/movements with pop leanings. Subgenres include chamber pop and twee pop.
