I was intrigued by this book because I'm beginning to realize that Zafina is one of those writers who has an incredible talent for creating characters whose personalities are so distinct that I can't help but be fascinated by them.
But this book is more than just another novel. It's also about what it means to be Jewish, and how Jews have continued to survive despite their environment and despite their religious beliefs.
