Shade personality type is INTP, a common personality type, and the one most often described as being “the inventor”. This is probably an accurate description of the type, but the word “Inventor” is a bit of a mouthful. In fact, Inventor is a bit of a mouthful, and I’ve been trying to think of a better name — something more concise — for the type.
I was staring at the computer screen and thinking about what to call this personality type when I noticed that I had a stack of index cards with the names and descriptions of all the personality types on them. (When I started working on this site and working with personality types, I had quite a collection of index cards.)
I started pulling out cards and looking at them, and I realized that I had never actually named the personality type that I thought of as “the inventor”. So, as is my wont, I decided to name it right then and there as I was pulling out the cards — even though I didn’t know what it would be called.
I settled on the name “Inventor”, and it seemed to fit. The card basically says:
