is an anime created by Studio Madhouse. It consists of a series of 12 animated films, the first of which was released on October 3, 2011, and the final film was released on October 3, 2015.
The main characters are three girls: Yui Sumida, a girl with a cheerful, upbeat personality; Kanata Shinomiya, a girl with a mysterious past and a habit of being silent; and Ritsu Tainaka, a girl who is constantly seen with her phone. The three girls get involved in various supernatural adventures.
In the beginning of the series, Yui accidentally summons a spirit named Oga, who helps her to solve various problems. Yui's personality changes drastically after meeting Oga and starts to lose her contact with the real world. She also becomes completely dependent on Oga for food and shelter.
At the beginning, Rui was an aloof and blunt girl who was hard to read emotionally. Her standoffish personality made it difficult for her to socialize; the first time she appears in the story, at a mixer, she didn't do much to interact with others.
Once someone sees through her initially cold demeanor, Rui is actually a very kind and loving girl throughout the series. In spite of this, it was hard at the beginning for her to express her feelings towards people she genuinely liked. She is very supportive of people she cares about in spite of their flaws and even if their desires conflict with her own.
