Charmander personality type is ENTJ, which is one of my favorite types (okay, I like them all, but let's be real) and they're very good at what they do. Along with the fact that they're almost always canonically awesome and like, the heroes of the story and stuff, they're very good at what they do and they're very tactical and they're very good at getting what they want. Which, to me, sounds like a perfect fit for Charmander. You know, just to put it out there.
And now it's the next generation! I really hope that Ash's Pokemon are all there for his kids, even if he doesn't have any. And if he does have any, I hope that his kids are awesome.

Ash vs Staryu - Staryu has a lot of defense against Grass-types, so it shouldn't be too hard for an Ice-type to take it out. And Staryu can learn Ice Beam to take out Fire-types. I think that this battle will end up being pretty simple.
Charmander, known as Hitokage in Japan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo's and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Atsuko Nishida, Charmander first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue and subsequent sequels, later appearing in various merchandise, spinoff titles, and various movies, animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. The end of a Charmander's tail is alight with a flame, and the flame's size reflects both the physical health and the emotions of the individual. It is known as the Lizard Pokemon. Gaming the player can choose from at the beginning of Pokémon Red and Blue, and their remakes, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. In the anime, Ash acquires a Charmander early in the series, and it became one of his most used Pokémon. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Blue receives a Charmander from his grandfather Professor Oak. Since it appeared in the Pokémon series, Charmander has received generally positive reception.
