Ivan the Terrible personality type is ENTJ, a rare but possibly more common type than INTJ.

As the most famous of the Russian emperors, Ivan’s personality is well known. He is described as introverted, assertive, and surprisingly generous, with a penchant for long hair and flowing robes. He was often described as an “enigmatic” personality, with a dark and violent side to him as well.

But as with most “great” men, we need to dig deeper and find out what was really there.

    Ivan the Terrible:

He was born on September 8 1430 in Moscow (then known as Tver).

His father Vasily IV was a nobleman and governor of Moscow. His mother was Anastasia Romanovna, the daughter of a nobleman.

Ivan’s father died when he was only six years old. His older brother died in the same year, and Ivan was left to rule Moscow, which he did with a mix of cruelty and kindness.

    Ivan II:

In 1462, Ivan married Sophia of Lithuania, his first cousin.

Ivan IV Vasilyevich, commonly known in English as Ivan the Terrible, was the grand prince of Moscow from 1533 to 1547 and the first Moscow ruler who declared himself tsar of all Russia from 1547 to 1584. Ivan was the first Moscow ruler born after its independence. Ivan was the son of Vasili III, the Rurikid ruler of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, and was appointed grand prince when he was three years old after his father's death. A group of reformers known as the "Chosen Council" united around the young Ivan, declaring him tsar of All Rus' in 1547 at the age of 16 and establishing the Tsardom of Russia with Moscow as the predominant state. Ivan's reign was characterised by Russia's transformation from a medieval state to an empire under the tsar but at an immense cost to its people and its broader, long-term economy. During his youth, there was a conquest of the Khanate of Kazan and the Khanate of Astrakhan.
