"My job is to be an objective adviser and to help people see the different options and the different objectives."
And while he has friends and colleagues who can relate to Adhemar's personality, says that his mother and father, especially his father, had a hard time accepting that he does not give a damn about what others think of him.
"I always say this: if you want to be loved, do something nice. If you want to be accepted, do something good," says Adhemar, who is an entrepreneur and a humanitarian working for social causes such as the World Wildlife Fund and Oxfam.
"If you want to be appreciated, do something useful. If you want to be respected, do something noble. Do something that will be remembered and that will help the world," says Adhemar, who is a member of the INSEAD Alumni Association and the Canadian Society for Business Economics and Policy Research.
