A seeker is someone who goes off on his own to find the truth, to find the answer to life. Dumbledore was not seeking the truth in himself, but in others. He was seeking for the truth in others, which is why he was so good at being a psychologist. He was able to know what others needed, what others wanted. He wanted to know their secrets, so he could save them. But he didn’t go off on his own to find the truth, he went off on his own to save them.
This also means that Dumbledore is very idealistic, which is what all Seekers are. They are idealists who have a strong sense of right and wrong. They often want to help others and save them from their weaknesses and shortcomings. This is also why Dumbledore was able to see through Voldemort’s manipulations, and therefore was able to use them against him.
