Bunty personality type is ISFJ, and I’m not sure what the personality type of the fictional character is, but it's fun to speculate.
I think the humor works for this book for two reasons. First, it's obvious that the author has a sense of humor, and it shows in the way he writes. Second, the puns and jokes are so subtle that they are easy to miss. For example, one of my favorite lines was when the missionary said, “How do you know this is a good book? It’s got a picture of a dragon in it."
The first half of the book is more interesting than the second half. The story is almost complete when it gets to the point where the missionaries have to leave their village. This half of the book was boring. It felt like the author ran out of ideas and was not sure how to wrap things up. I am not sure how to judge the rest of the book based on this first half. It was obviously written by a different author than the interesting and funny first half, but it didn't give me much reason to read more.
