Interests:
I love reading The Economist and seeing the world through the eyes of guys like Tyler Cowen, Michael Lind, and Paul Krugman. I spent several years in Washington, D.C., and loved the specialized language, policy making, and politics. I also read a lot of history and politics. I love learning about the people and events that shaped the world we live in. I am fascinated by the evolution and spread of human cultures and their interactions with one another and the environment. I love learning about how cultures and societies learn and change over time. I also enjoy exploring the past through hiking, cooking, and reading.
I'm also interested in computers and technology, but I tend to be more of a developer than user. I like to read the latest developments in computer science, but I'm not a big fan of either mainframe or desktop PCs. I know I'm crazy, but I don't consider myself a real geek either. I'm more interested in doing interesting things than in talking about them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how to make computers and technology better and more useful.
