Deadman's personality type is INTP, which is the most common of the types for me. Deadman is an INTP who has had the experience of dying, and has had to deal with his afterlife. He can't understand people who are not at least moderately familiar with the afterlife, and still think that they are sane--and he can't understand people who think one of two things is all there is, either. He is generally not very tolerant of people who are not at least moderately familiar with the afterlife, or who do not know that there are at least two possibilities. If you do not want to be annoyed by Deadman, he really can't understand why you wouldn't want to learn as much as possible about what happens after death. It doesn't matter how smart you think you are, if you're not at least moderately familiar with how your brain cells die and what happens to your body after they do.
