Cavetown - Dysphoric personality type is INTP, and INTPs are not suicidal at all. I think the reason why you get this idea is because you've been reading too much that says, "INTPs are suicidal and all they do is think." Silly descriptions like this, and mischaracterizations of INTPs in general, can only lead a person to draw incorrect conclusions about INTPs.
INTPs, on the other hand, aren't suicidal and they don't think too much. They tend to just be quiet and introverted, but they don't go around thinking about death because that is an inferior function. They think about it and have deep thoughts about it, but don't obsess on it.
INTPs have a healthy amount of introspection, but when compared to their extroverted counterparts, it's not nearly as much as you think. INTPs are introverts and have a healthy amount of self-knowledge and self-reflection. They know who they are and what they value, but they don't spend too much time thinking about it. They do it naturally without even needing to be told to think about things, and not by choice.
