I think I remember the first time I ever read about Edgar Swansea personality type and it was in a book by Raoul Vaneigem called The Revolution of Everyday Life. I don't remember what made me pick up the book, but it was probably the cover, which featured a picture of a man with a beard and a skull cap, smoking a pipe.
I was fascinated by the ideas about the 'travelling salesman', which is what I'd call myself at that time. I've often thought that I might have been an ISTJ.
