She was interested in the concept of “ghost stories” and wanted to create an anime that would attract people. She also wanted to work on something that was very different from many other anime that are produced.
Mikoto Fukuhara has worked on other anime projects apart from her work on Omoide no Animegatari (Memories of Others).
One of the projects she worked on was the OVA titled Poco’s Udon World. The project was released in 2008 and it received critical acclaim.
The anime won the Best Animation Award at the 2008 Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF).
