The ISTP personality type is really an enigma. They’re sometimes depicted as cold and distant, but I would argue that’s because we’ve been taught that this is an accurate representation of how they behave, and we’ve never interacted with them personally.
More often, we see people who are generally reserved, but also very direct and honest. They’re also known for being extremely independent and strong-willed, and many of them will even say “no” when they don’t want to do something.
These are all things you might expect to see in an ISTP, but an ISTP in theory is not supposed to be all of these things.
