    ESTJ (3w4)

King Mongkut of Siam personality type is ISTJ, with a dominant auxiliary function of Si. He became the world's last absolute monarch, but he ruled his country for only forty-five years and has been ignored or vilified by historians. This type is said to be the most grounded and practical of all sixteen personality types.

Son of King Mongkut (reigned 1851-68) and Queen Consort Chudaporn (reigned 1832-56), he found himself in an impossible situation: he was a royal prince and the heir to the throne; yet according to the law of succession, he had to be married and produce an heir. A commoner and a Si dominant, Son did not want to marry a princess of another country and bring on an unwanted war. He did not want to be forced into a loveless union. Son's Si dominant gave him great self-control and decision-making skills, but also made it difficult for him to relate to others and feel comfortable.

Prince Chulalongkorn was born on October 26, 1853.
