Investigator personality type is INTP, and in my experience, they are very rational and process-oriented.
It’s only when they’re dealing with people that they don’t understand that they often become very emotional.
They will often use their logic to try to understand emotions, and this can lead to very long, complex theories on how emotions work.
It also often leads them to trying to over-analyze people and situations to the point where they lose common sense.
This is what happened with me when I was going through my first crisis.
I was desperate to find out what was going on with my life, so I would spend hours looking at every aspect of it.
I would find out things like this:

I found this resource online, and it had all these long, complex examples of how the unconscious works.
Every single one of them was completely wrong, and didn’t even make sense.
