As an ISTJ, I'm pretty in tune with my emotions. I'm in my comfort zone in the sense that if I go out on a limb, I may not really like where it lands.
I would much rather stay in my comfort zone than be uncomfortable doing something new or different. I'm not really quite sure how to act in situations where my comfort zone is challenged, but I know it's not for me.
Also, I do have a mind of my own, so I sometimes have to be careful not to just follow what others are doing or saying. It's important for me to do what I think is best for me—and that may not be what's best for everyone else!
