Arashio personality type is INTP, so I would guess they’d be more interested in a character whose personality type is a bit more similar to theirs. But, I’m going to talk about why they’d be interested in a character with the opposite personality type.
The most obvious reason is that they want to know what you’re like, and whether or not they’d fit in with you. In this case, it would be a bit of a double-edged sword. I’m the type of person who doesn’t generally deal well with people who are overly headstrong and assertive, and would likely chafe under the authority of someone like Akashio. However, this would probably make Akashio incredibly loyal and trusting of me, and I don’t think I could handle that.
The second reason is simple: Akashio has a clear concept of what he wants out of life, and he wants it with Umi. However, if he were to get it, he wouldn’t want to change. If this were the case, then the only way that Akashio could be happy would be for me to be happy too.
