Kyoko personality type is INTP, like me. Funny coincidence. But I don't think it's necessarily the case for everyone.
Also, I know the anime version of the character is more nuanced than the manga one, but this is just my opinion. I actually find that one of the most intriguing parts of Gintama is the fact that the characters' motivations are very complex and often contradictory, and that's why I really like it.
And lastly, I don't necessarily think that the anime character necessarily has to be more complex than the manga version all the time. I think you can have it both ways, or even one way and the other.
I hate to be the one to say this, but your post was long and tedious to read. I don't think it's necessary to elaborate on every single little detail of character development. The reason why I wanted to make this topic is because I didn't really find any information about this.
Anyway, if you want to elaborate on this further, I'd be happy to listen to your opinions.
As a side note, I don't necessarily agree with your view on Shinpachi and Gin-san.
