Mr Mortimer, from Ipswich, said: "I started having panic attacks a couple of years ago but it wasn't until last year that I decided to seek professional help.
"I found out I was suffering from anxiety and depression, and I went to see my GP who referred me to a counsellor."
Mr Mortimer was prescribed anti-depressants and at first he felt some relief.
He said: "I felt that things were getting better, but then I found out my medication wasn't working.
"I ended up having to go back on the anti-depressants once again, but it still wasn't working.
"In February this year I was referred to a psychologist who specialises in anxiety disorders.
"She put me on a new medication and I was feeling really positive about the future, but then I had another attack this month and now I'm back on anti-depressants again."
Mr Mortimer is now hoping that he can get a different medication which will suit him better.
