Merlin personality type is INTP, which makes sense, as Merlin is a wizard and is usually portrayed as a lone wolf. But according to a study conducted by a team of researchers at the University of California, the personality type most frequently associated with Merlin is ENTP – or, as it’s otherwise known, “The Wizard.”
The results of the study – which was conducted on a group of 1,000 people between the ages of 18 and 75 who were asked to identify their personality type using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – were published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences.
The Personality Type of Merlin
In the study, the researchers asked participants to rate the personality of Merlin on a scale from 0 to 100. They found that ENTP was the personality type most commonly associated with Merlin, followed by INTP and INFJ. ENTPs make up 8% of the population, INTPs make up 4% and INFJs make up 2%.
“We found that Merlin was associated with a higher proportion of ENTPs and INFJs among the general population than among Merlin fans,” said one of the researchers behind the study, Dr. Paul Silvia.
