Rethinking the Rethinkers
For many years I've heard people talk about the "Rethinkers" as if they are a distinct personality type. I've even gone to some lengths to point out that I don't think there are five distinct personality types.
The Rethinkers are not a distinct type. They are simply an orientation within the INTP functions, the same way that the ENTJ functions are an orientation within the INTP functions.
I think it's time to take the "Rethinkers" out of the media spotlight, because I'm not sure that they are really that interesting!

There are five primary functions in the MBTI, and three secondary functions. The MBTI also has two inferior functions, but they are not used in the MBTI, so I'll ignore them here.
