In the early days of the Internet, I remember being blown away by the possibility that thousands of people from around the world, from all walks of life, from all over the planet were sharing their stories, gaining strength from every word. It was like a dam had burst and we were all in the floodwaters together.
I was hooked and I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to be a part of the Wounded Warrior Project. I wanted to give back. I wanted to help.
So I started sharing my stories. I started blogging. And then I started writing books.
I wrote a book about my life story and what it was like to be a wounded warrior (My Life, My War). Then I wrote a book about what it’s like to be a wounded warrior today (Warriors: Inspiring Stories of Inspiration and Courage). And in both books, I talked about what it’s like to be an ISTJ and how it helped me understand and cope with my experiences as a wounded warrior.
Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001. It operates as a nonprofit 501 organization.
