The main reason that she is such a good fit for the J-type is that, in the anime, she is so much in love with the script and/or the characters and their personalities. This is her true love. She is really not interested in the world of magic and so she can't imagine how magical and beautiful and amazing and important and all the other adjectives J-types love to use. She knows that someday magic will be recognized by the rest of the world and she will be proven right, but that's not why she wants to be a script writer. She wants to write the ending, the ending that will make it all really good. It makes her happy to think that she can help bring it about.
In contrast, Kanade's status as a script writer only tells part of the story. What we see onscreen is a very limited view of her. This may be because she has a fairly narrow focus and doesn't really understand the scope of what she does. But it may also be because she has a fairly narrow view of what she was born to do.
