Kain's first appearance in Twilight Princess is found in Kakariko Village, where Link meets him on his quest to help Prince Ralis. He is the mayor of the village, and the younger brother of Mipha, the mayor of the village in Twilight Princess.
Kain's personality is similar to that of Link's father, Ganondorf, but with some key differences. While Ganondorf is a bitter and sadistic character, Kain is more of a friendly and outgoing person, as many people in his village like to make fun of him for being a "hanging wall flower". He also appears to have a more kind and caring personality than Ganondorf, as he does not appear to be as corrupted by his greed like Ganondorf or just as brutal as Link is.
He also shows care for others, such as when he tells Link not to upset the residents of the village in which he owns. He also appears to be very proud of his village, as he shows both joy and sadness when the Goron's might attack Kakariko Village.

Caspar "Khan" Kain is a serious, smart, domineering, and exceptionally brave child. He is the leader of the Dogheads and it is he who determines who is allowed into the Polyhedron. Khan is one of the children listed on Isidor Burakh's List. During the epidemic he falls under the care of the Haruspex.
